While I’m not currently a diesel driver, and have no real reason to
make biodiesel, I do have friends and acquaintances that have toyed
with the idea. How cool would it be to make your own fuel at a fraction
of the cost of what it is at the pump?!?!
Today I’ll reference some links to other sites that can teach you step by step, how to make biodiesel for you vehicle. One of the most referenced and most detailed sites I’ve found is Collaborative Biodiesel Tutorial. This site is written and updated by people all over the world who make biodiesel. The site includes very detailed instructions and “lots of pictures”! Not interested in working completely from scratch? Biodiesel processors are available from Home Biodiesel Kits. These are some slick looking units, available in various sizes to fit your needs, (they even sell commercial units). They offer workshops, accessories and lots of information to get you going. It’s obvious that these folks really want you to be successful. Right now, highway diesel is selling for around $2.70 per gallon. Most sites say that you can produce your own biodiesel for around .70 cents per gallon! If you have a farm where you’re running a lot of diesel equipment, it wouldn’t take long at all to realize some incredible savings! Got a diesel generator to power your home? Think of the savings by using your own biodiesel to run your generator?!?! With biodiesel, your engine will run better, longer, cleaner (and cheaper of course!)
